Rejuvasea Skincare Products Review and Giveaway

A few months ago, I stumbled across this awesome offer for a free months worth of Rejuvasea skincare products. I figured it was too good to be true, but signed up anyways. About 2 weeks later a box with 3 products showed up in my mailbox.
I couldn't wait 'til bedtime & I immediately tried out my new score.
I started with the exfoliating cleanser, the first thing I noticed was the fresh, clean scent. It kinda smells like rain, if that makes sense.
It has a grainy texture for gentle exfoliation of the dead skin cells, but it's not overly rough, even on the delicate skin under the eyes.
It left my skin feeling so smooth and squeaky clean, without any residue.
The second step was the Firming Serum. I was pleased to find that it had the same fresh scent as the cleanser did. The directions say to use it twice daily, after using the cleanser. It can be used alone or under makeup. It's not greasey & absorbs quickly.
The third step is the 2 minute eye lift. I kid you not, when I say I noticed a visible difference in the tiny lines around my eye. I'm just now at the age where those tiny lines are kinda bothersome, so I was really impressed by this.
It felt really nice & cool as I applied it and it didn't burn or sting at all. I love the fact that these products contain all natural ingredients, my skin can be kinda sensitive, so this is a major plus.
I rarely ever spend money on targeted beauty products, such as these, but I would totally buy these products. (If I hadn't already spent my "free money" on diapers)
*Disclaimer*
I was not financially compensated for this review, this is just my opinion and yours may differ.

Rude, Crude & Socially Unacceptable?

... Then come sit with me and let's talk. lol.
Seriously tho,  check out this awesome collection, I found,  of unintentionally inappropriate answers kids wrote on their tests. Some are mild, some are wild, but they're all funny. Just what you need to lift your spirits on Monday.

: )

Beef Enchurritos

What you need:
1 lb ground beef
Taco seasoning pkt
1 can corn with peppers
1 8oz carton mushrooms, sliced (or 1 can)
1 can fire roasted tomatoes
1 can red enchilada sauce
Flour tortillas
Shredded mexican blend cheese
*Brown ground beef with taco seasoning pkt, drain well.
*Add corn, mushrooms and tomatoes, simmer for 10-15 minutes. *Spoon warmed ground beef mixture into flour tortillas and fold over.
*Place, folded side down, in a greased baking 9x13 dish.
*Pour can of enchilada sauce over & sprinkle generously with shredded cheese.
*Bake @ 350° for 30 minutes.
Enjoy!

Cpn. Crunch Chicken

This is my version of Planet Hollywood's Cpn. Crunch chicken, which is rumored to be Justin Timberlake's favorite.

What you need:
1 lb chicken, cut into 1 in pieces
Lawry's season salt
2 eggs
1 box of Cpn. Crunch cereal (without berries)
Oil for frying

The directions are relatively simple, but kind of time consuming.

*Sprinkle your chicken with the seasoned salt. (or use a combo of garlic & onion powder and salt)

*Using a rolling pin or food processor, pulverize the cereal into crumbs (great job for the older kids),  to be used for breading the chicken.

*Beat the eggs in a bowl. Dip the chicken into the egg & then roll in the cereal crumbs. (everyone has their own method for breading chicken, so if you prefer the Ziploc™ baggie method, that will work too)

*Fry the chicken @ 350° 'til the chicken is done all the way thru. (mine took 7 minutes to get fully done, but yours may vary depending on the thickness of the pieces)

*You could also bake this in the oven, just lightly spray the chicken with olive oil or butter flavored Pam™ spray before baking it.

Sorry I don't have a picture of the finished product, the boys tore into it before I had a chance, but trust me, it is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

The Best Cleaning Tip... EVER!!!

I was kinda hesitant to try this at first, but I did and let me tell you, it worked like a charm!
I was kind of afraid it would scratch, (test in an inconspicuous spot first) but I use this trick all the time and have never had any trouble with it scratching.

Parlez Vous Francais?!

As we were leaving to go do our Friday errands... bank, grocery & the dollar store, I handed Micah to Dad to entertain, for a minute, while I cleaned out the back of the car.
So as Micah pretends to drive, turns on/off the windshield wipers, turn signals & grabs every possible lever/knob and doo dad in sight, I warn Dad this is not going to end well.
That's when I hear the bluetooth lady (with whom I've had issues in the past, I'm quite sure she hates me) say those eight fateful words... "Changing default language to french, one moment please".
Wait.... What the hell did she just say?!  French?! Nooooooooo!!!
As Dad tries, in vain, to cancel the operation, it becomes clear to me that we're quite possibly screwed.
I, being the eternal optimist, suggest checking for the settings on the radio... Surely it's no big deal... It'll be easy, Right?!  Yeah, no.  There's no setting on the radio to change it back.
Now, at this point, most normal people would probably be thinking... "Get out the manual". Which would usually be the correct answer... For most normal people.... Not us. We like to live on the wild side.
We decide to reason with her. Surely if we ask nicely, she'll switch it back.... Yeah, not hardly.
Dad pushes the button to activate the listening function of the bluetooth & respectfully requests "Change default language"...
To which "she" responds... "Pardonne"?, in a very snooty french accent, mind you.
He tries again "Change default language", a bit louder and more sternly this time.
Again, she responds simply... "Pardonne"?
(I'm still wondering why we never got out the book before it got ugly.... Possibly because we were too busy laughing hysterically)
At this point it was getting crucial, he starts randomly hitting combinations of buttons while talking real ugly to and about the bluetooth lady.
I was laughing hysterically on the outside, but on the inside, I was sure we were gonna be stuck with Kia's hellish version of Marion Cotillard forever.
Dad made one last attempt. He hit the button, then very calmly & confidently, he said "Change default language to english por favor".
I then and there made the executive decision to consult the manual, and by "consult the manual", I mean, I  threw him the book & let him fugure it out.
The fix was quite simple actually, hold down the bluetooth button for 10 seconds and scroll through the other languages 'til you get back around to english.
In the end, a major tragedy was avoided, we had a great laugh and even learned a few words in french... Glass half full.

English Muffin Pizzas

These individual sized pizzas are super easy to make & are a great way to get the kids involved in the kitchen.
What you need:
English muffins
Sauce
Mozzarella cheese
Toppings of your choice
When making these pizzas, I like to switch it up a bit, I like to use Bbq sauce or ranch dressing instead of traditional tomato sauce and chicken or crab instead of typical pepperoni or sausage.
Examples of topping combos...
Ranch with chicken, bacon & mozzarella.
Ranch with lump crab, mozzarella & basil.
Bbq with chicken, bacon, green onions & mozzarella.
Ranch with chicken (marinated in Frank's red hot sauce), bacon, green onions & feta.
Bbq with chicken, pineapple, bacon & mozzarella.
The combos are truly endless, don't be afraid to mix it up in the kitchen, have fun with your cooking and it won't seem like such a chore.

Super Quick & Easy Breakfast Idea (Pigs 'n a Blanket)

These pigs in a blanket are so quick & easy to make, you can even make several batches at a time and freeze them for later. Which sounds like a good idea, in theory, but mine usually don't last long enough to worry about having to store them.
What you need:
1 (or more) can of crescent rolls
1 pkg (or more) link sausage (you can save even more time by using pre cooked sausage links)
Cook your sausage thoroughly & drain them on a paper towel.
Unroll crescent dough.
Lay sausage link on dough horizontally & roll towards the pointy end.
Place pointy side up, on a lightly greased baking sheet & bake according to package directions.... Enjoy.

Frozen Banana & Peanut Butter Smoothie

Don't you hate when your bananas start going brown?!  There's only a couple of things you can do with brown bananas... Make bread with 'em or toss 'em out.... Instead, why don't you try freezing them.
Here's a delicious, healthy way to use up all those brown bananas.
What you need:
3 or 4 frozen bananas
1 cup milk (maybe more, depending on desired consistency)
1 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp creamy peanut butter
Add milk to blender with cut up bananas & blend on medium 'til smooth. Add honey & p.b., blend again 'til smooth, adding more milk if necessary. You can also add a tsp or so of cocoa powder for a chocolatey version.
This tastes so good, the kids will never even know they're having a healthy snack.

Cook'n Recipe Organizer Software Review & Giveaway

I was so excited when I was given the opportunity to review this awesome software.
I had been looking for something that was as easy to use & inclusive as the Cook'n software, but so far, I  have had no luck.
Most apps or programs out there are lacking in one way or another, or aren't very user friendly, but not this one.
It's loaded with lots of useful features, and if by some crazy chance you don't like it, there's a 200% money back guarantee. Yes, 200%. Not only will they refund your money, they will also buy you a copy of another software, of your choice. (within 30 days of purchase)
This software is compatible with both Mac & Pc and can also be synched to your iphone or Droid.

The first thing I noticed about the Cook'n software, was the very useful help/tutorial pages. I'm kinda like a man when it comes to reading instructions, but I did anyway, and honestly, these help topics actually gave me lots of  useful, important info.
The Cook'n recipe organizer is like having several different programs all in one place. It's a recipe organizer, a menu planner, a home nutritionist and a grocery list maker among other things.
There are tons of really good pre-loaded recipes for you to choose from, or you can add your own. You can also capture recipes from your favorite online site.

Don't you just hate it when you find a recipe online that you really wanna try, but can't find a pen & paper... No worries, just import it to your Cook'n software and you're done. Easy Peasey!
If you really wanna get creative, you can change up the backgrounds on each recipe. There are lots of cute ones to choose from, such as a Christmas-y theme , a crayon theme that would be great for doing kid's recipes and a classic butcher block background.

Do you have a friend who can burn Ramen noodles & thinks that panna cotta is a material you make clay pots from? You should definitely do them a favor and compile some of your best recipes, customize them & print them out on some nice card stock or index cards. You could even put 'em in a binder or cute little recipe box and wrap them up for Christmas or birthday gifts.
With this easy to use software, you really have no reason not to... Besides, friends don't let friends cook bad food.

Another feature I love is how the recipe entry mode has a handy "quick fill" dropdown menu for easy adding of ingredients. Instead of having to type out the whole word, just type the first few letters & pick your choice from the menu. So quick & easy. The recipe input box is also really inclusive. Allowing you to add info such as # of servings and special cooking notes. It also allows you to scale onboard recipes up or down, handy when having company over for dinner.

When people ask me for my best  tip for saving money on their groceries, I always tell them to make a weekly or monthly menu & stick to it! By making a menu, you only buy exactly what you need to complete each meal, therefore eliminating unnecessary extras. The Cook'n software practically does all this for you! After you get all of your favorite recipes entered in, you're ready to start planning your menu. This part of the program gives you lots of flexibility for making your menus. With choices of  daily, weekly, monthly or 3 months at a time you can tailor it to your current needs. To begin, just drag & drop your recipes where you want 'em. For example, start with Monday's breakfast & work your way down. When you've got it just like you want it, Save it and hit one button and BaM! It gives you a shopping list, which gives you the option to check off the ingredients you already have on hand. All you do is just print and go!
You can also get all the nutritional info for any recipe on your list. I'm kinda conflicted about this feature... I mean,  Do we really need to know how many calories or grams of fat are in the white chocolate raspberry cookies?!

The (editable) on-board glossary is very extensive and well written, with easy to understand directions. If you're brand new to cooking or just need to brush up a little, you'll find exactly what you're looking for in the glossary.

The multiple tabs function comes in really handy if you're preparing several recipes at once. You can switch back & forth easily without losing your place.
I was really impressed by the thoroughness of this software. Every time I thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be neat if it could do this or that...", I read more into the tutorial and found that it could in fact, do this or that ...

This software would make a great addition to anybody's kitchen arsenal. You can save yourself hours of precious time just by using the grocery list function alone. If this sounds like something you could use, sign into the rafflecopter below & get your entries in!!!

**Disclaimer** I was given a copy of the software to try out for myself & a copy to give to a lucky reader, but the opinions I express here are my own and yours may differ.  I was not financially compensated for this review.

***Even though there will only be one winner of a FREE Copy of the Cook'n software... No worries,  Thanks to the wonderful people over at Cook'n, I can offer you a coupon code for 50% off your purchase of the Cook'n software.*** a Rafflecopter giveaway

All Natural Pain Relieving "Rice Pack"

Find an old scrap of fabric  measuring approx 12in long x 6in tall. You'll want something a bit on the sturdier side, if you plan on using it often.
With a sewing machine, sew up 3 of the sides (right sides facing in so the seam won't show when you turn it right side out), leaving the top open.
Turn it right sides out, you should have something resembling a small pillow case.
Pour rice into your "pillow" with a funnel 'til it's a little more than half full and then close the seam. That's it. You're done.
You can also add drops of essential oils to the rice before you close the seam.
Put your "rice pack” in the freezer for a couple of hours or in the microwave for a minute and you're good to go.
These would make a great Father's day gift for dad, if he has a bad back or neck or even knees. The pliable shape makes it great for lots of uses.
I loooove mine!
: )

Ghetto Fabulous Ramen Noodles

With a few little "cheats" you can turn a lowly pack of Ramen noodles into an unbelievably yummy, ghetto fabulous main dish.
What you need:
2 Packs chicken flavored ramen noodles
1 Pkg imitation crab or lobster
2 Pats butter
1/4 Cup grated parmesean cheese
Cook noodles according to directions, leaving them a bit al dente.  Drain. Add drained noodles, butter, flavor pkts, crab & grated parmesean cheese to pan & stir 'til well blended and crab is warm. Serve with a mixed green salad & some garlic toast... Yum!!!

Crockpot Bbq Baked Beans

This is one of my very favorite "cookout foods". This is actually my mom's  recipe, the one I grew up on. (with a tweak or 2 of my own)
I remember, we grilled out lots when I was a kid since my birthday falls right around Memorial Day, we usually had a cookout that weekend and several other times throughout the summer.
Don't you love the way certain foods can evoke fond childhood memories. For me, this is one of those recipes.
What you need:
2 Cans of plain pork & beans
1 Medium onion (finely diced)
1 Clove of garlic (minced)
1/4 Cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp yellow mustard
2 Tbsp Bbq sauce (I always end up using more, but 2 is a good starting point)
2 Tbsp ketchup
3 or 4 strips of cooked/crumbled bacon.
Add all ingredients to crockpot & simmer on low all day or at least 'til warmed thru. The longer you cook 'em, the better they taste.
*stock photo from google*

It's Monday Already?!

Hello all!
Sorry It's been kinda quiet around here the last few days, I have been gone to Missouri, for a family reunion. I had a blast, even won some great bingo prizes, but boy am I paying for it today. I guess I've reached the age where riding 8 hours in a car just isn't all that much fun anymore, but it was so worth it to see my family!
Too bad my body doesn't agree with me... My back is on strike & refuses to work, so I think, I'm gonna take a handful of Ibuprofen, grab my ice pack & relax for the rest of the afternoon... As much as one can  with a 2 year old, that is.
I have several recipes & a very helpful backache relief tip scheduled for later that you won't wanna miss.
Not to mention the Cook'n recipe organizer review & giveaway that goes live tomorrow, you definitely don't wanna miss that!!!
One lucky winner will receive a FREE copy of the Cook'n recipe organizer. ($99 value) This really is a handy thing to have!
I'm tellin you guys, this is gonna be a really fun week... lots of great summer recipes lined up, some great household tips and a couple of great giveaways coming up too.
Thank you all for being here and I hope you have a great week!!!

Three New Lotions From Vaseline

Vaseline lotion was a staple around my house as a kid.  My mom swore by this stuff, so when I found out they had 3 new lotions, I had to see if it was as good as the original....  It is!

I was given the Vaseline Total Moisture Aloe Fresh to try. When I first used the lotion, I noticed how thick it was. Not watery like some lotions are. It went on smooth & absorbed pretty quickly. It had a nice clean scent and didn't feel too greasy or smell too overpowering. Which is great, because I'm kind of OCDish about my "smelly goods"... My hand lotion can't clash with my perfume or my shampoo with my deoderant or my laundry detergent etc etc, all my scents have to compliment each other, and don't even get me started about my candles and carpet fresh and pinesol. lol.
The new line of Vaseline lotions definitely didn't let me down. Great lotions at a great pricepoint.. Double score!

Check out more info about all 3 new Vaseline lotions here.

*Disclaimer*
I was given a free sample of the product to try, but the opinion I share is my own.
